RECESSION. is a one-room workshop in Brunswick, Melbourne. We work with two tanneries — one in Avellino, Italy, one in regional Victoria — and the rest is done here: cut by hand, saddle-stitched in waxed linen, edges burnished one piece at a time.

We sell direct because middlemen lift the price without lifting the quality. The number on the tag is the cost of leather, time, and a fair wage — nothing else. If a stitch ever lets go, send it back and we'll redo it for free.
